Niki

We've been doing a whole lot of nothing around here, it's sad that a visit to the hospital is what gets me to blog.
Yesterday we were hanging out with Billy at the shop, I took the kids over to his parents to nap and when they woke up I took the girls outside to swing and I walked over to the shop with Reed to see what Billy was up to. Maybe 5 minutes later we hear a little cry so I head over toward the house but the girls were already on their way to us, I see blood and turn to get Billy. I didn't even want to look, I knew it was going to be bad. He stopped what he was doing ran over picked her up, we saw her ear and immediately left for the hospital. I HATE when my kids are hurting. I would have done anything to trade her places.
Mom and Pa Baker have a swing that we refer to as the death trap... It's heavy it's metal two people sit on it and it swings fast. I can never watch while the kids are all playing back there because someone always walks to close to it and it's usually Nixyn. They have all avoided getting hit by it until yesterday. When I saw the blood I knew exactly what had happened. Billy and his siblings grew up playing on that and never had any encounters with it, leave it to Nixyn to be the first. At least I know that she won't walk close to it ever again. Well, we can only hope.
Anywho we spent hours at the hospital, every time we were close to getting seen someone would come in that was more critical than Nixyn. She was a good sport. We laughed we cried and played and watched the first 20 minutes of the same movie over and over again.
They put her under, stitched her up gave her a teddy bear and two popsicles and we were good to go!
The plastic surgeon did an amazing job! And I'm so grateful that Billy and his Dad were able to give her blessing before the procedure. I'm grateful for the power of the priesthood and the blessing it brings!
Here are some pictures, if you don't like the site of blood don't scroll down.

Split right through her ear, can you see the gap? There was also a gash behind her ear.
 Waiting for stitches

 All stitched and lookin good!

I know what swingset you're talking about and, yeah, I've gotten hurt on it a few times in my day too. It's a beast. =) Poor Nix. I don't know. She looks kind of proud though. When she's a teenager, she'll be super proud of those pictures. =) I am glad she's okay!
